What is payment processing?
Payment processing is how businesses complete and accomplish credit and debit card transactions. Payment processing securely processes transmitted data so that customers and Merchant get a transparent and secure way to complete a transaction. Payment processing makes possible goods and services purchasing without using checks or cash. How does Rastpay payment processing work?
When a client purchases a service or product, the payment transaction is made with the card at the point of sale (POS) at the Merchant's spot. Rastpay payment processing completes a transaction in a few seconds. However, the whole procedure implies a complex sequence of actions.
At the start, the Merchant requests the authorization of the transaction. Rastpay submits the transaction to the card issued by the specific financial institution (issuing bank). Subsequently, the issuing bank either approves or denies the transaction subject to the established inner policy or criteria. In case the issuing bank approves the transaction, it charges the cardholder with the requested amount. Once done, the merchant bank gets the payment from the cardholder minus an interchange fee. The requested amount of money will be sent to the merchant bank and then transferred directly to the merchant account.
